Part-Time Supply Chain & Purchasing Assistant
Bridgend | £29,000–£30,000 pa FTE (pro rata for part-time hours) DOE | Permanent | Monday–Friday (25 hours per week)
Working for an expanding, values-led manufacturing business with a great reputation for looking after its people, we're looking for an experienced Part-Time Supply Chain & Purchasing Assistant to join the team and play a key role in keeping stock levels under control, supporting the supply chain and ensuring projects stay on track.
You'll work closely with suppliers, the warehouse, transport, customer support and the wider team to ensure the right components are ordered, available and delivered on time.
The essentials
Sage experience and previous supply chain experience are essential for this role.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience working within a supply chain, purchasing, procurement and stock control environment
- Hands-on experience using Sage
- Experience raising purchase orders, managing supplier orders and monitoring deliveries
- Strong understanding of stock control, purchasing processes and supply chain coordination
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Previous project management or project coordination experience
- Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with suppliers and internal teams
- A proactive, energetic and self-starting approach; you'll need to be someone who spots a problem and gets on with solving it
Please note: candidates must have both Sage experience and previous supply chain experience to be considered for this position.
What will you be doing?
You'll be responsible for helping ensure the business has the stock and components it needs to keep projects moving and delivered on time and in full.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Raising purchase orders, obtaining quotes and maintaining accurate purchasing information on Sage and Smartsheet
- Monitoring stock levels and ensuring the right components are available to keep projects on track
- Managing supplier relationships, agreeing delivery dates and proactively following up on delays
- Liaising with Warehouse, Transport and Customer Support to coordinate deliveries and communicate updates
- Supporting with new suppliers, product codes and bespoke component orders, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date
- Monitoring outstanding orders and identifying potential supply issues before they impact projects
- Attending project/NCR meetings, responding to queries and flagging any purchasing, stock or delivery issues
- Supporting the wider supply chain and purchasing function as required
